Almost 1,000kms off the coast of Ecuador lie the Galapagos Islands. This is a truely amazing place. The scenery
is mainly barren and volcanic
– each island is literally the peak of an underwater volcano, but even so, each island is quite different from the other depending upon its age. There are 13 islands in total and their main claim to fame being the inspiration for Charles Darwin and his theory on the origin of species.

Having never had any contact with the mainland, the wildlife is fearless and unique. You
can roam around amongst iguanas, blue footed boobies, mockingbirds and giant tortoises and snorkel with sealions, bubble blowing penguins, sharks and thousands of colourful fish,
or just happily stroll amongst immense cactus forests or along pristine sandy beaches laced with very relaxed sealions – life's tough!

It's truely a photographes delight, you can easy take hundreds of shots in a day
if you are not careful – this collection is just the tip of my iceberg!

On these 2 pages are a collection of my favourites. You can view each island
in more detail by going to the pull down menu (top right)
and selecting the islands one by one. They are numbered
in the sequence in which I visited them. Enjoy....
